Ready to explore the wonders of the universe? Join us for an exciting exploration of our solar system, the Milky Way, the life cycle of stars, cosmology and beyond! We’ll dive into the science of astronomy with optional evening stargazing outings to see it all up close.

Instructor:

Jim Yoder, Ph.D., is professor emeritus of Hesston (Kan.) College where he taught chemistry, general education science and astronomy for 50 years, retiring in 2018. Five of those years were spent in leaves and sabbaticals, including two stints as a visiting professor at Wichita (Kan.) State University and two in southern Africa at the University of Swaziland (now Eswatini), first with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), and the second under the auspices of the United States State Department as a Fulbright lecturer. Yoder holds degrees from Hesston College, Goshen (Ind.) College and Indiana University (Bloomington).
